Holden Willis passes the eye test and the ability test. Not just now. But last season, as well.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound rising senior at Greenback caught 41 passes for 941 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2018 for the Cherokees, despite having that campaign cut short in the playoffs because of injury.
Still, he went largely undetected by FBS football programs after that monster junior year. Austin Peay and Tulane offered in late March and early April, respectively. Camp invites weren’t bountiful, though.
But an 11th-hour decision to attend The Opening Regional Combine in Murfreesboro may have drastically changed his course and redirected it to Power 5 college football.
