It seemed like Deshawn Page and company were at Fulton forever.
In high school football terms, they were.
Page, Xavier Malone, DaShaun McKinney and JaShaun Fenderson were senior cornerstones for the Falcons who finished up their distinguished careers by going 10-2 last season.
Fulton coach Rob Black said replacing those four is a tall task as the perennially strong Falcons, along with other teams in the 5Star Preps coverage area, begin the countdown to the 2019 season.
“Those guys we lost are three- or four-year starters,” said Black.
“You’re looking not only at replacing those guys from an athletic standpoint, but a leadership standpoint as well. It’s a big-time task. We’re looking to multiple people to make ends meet.”
All told, the Falcons lost eight starters on each side of the ball.
