Catholic point guard B.J. Edwards received some good news Wednesday.
The 6-foot-1 sophomore received a 4-star rating by 247sports and was ranked as the No. 49 prospect nationally in the Class of 2022 composite rankings and 43rd in the Top247 rankings.
Later on Wednesday, South Carolina added the icing to Edwards’ day, offering him a scholarship.
5Star Preps named Edwards the 2018-19 season UnderClassman of the Year for averaging 17.8 points per game to go with his 6.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists for the Irish (25-7).
“He’s just an all-around complete point guard,” Catholic coach Mike Hutchens told 5SP after the season.
Edwards’ stock soared even more when Auburn extended a scholarship his way July 17, while also showing well this summer playing for the BMaze Elite organization.
