STRAWBERRY PLAINS — A difficult week at Carter ended with a tough home loss to Halls Thursday night.
On Tuesday, longtime Hornets assistant coach Clyde Moore died of complications from diabetes.
The stool Moore used was on the sidelines during the Halls game, along with his picture, hat and play sheet.
Moore would have been proud of the effort by Carter, which dropped a hard-fought 19-18 decision as Halls remained undefeated.
“For them to come out and fight the way they did, you’ve got to tip your hat to them,” said Red Devils coach Scott Cummings.
“My hat’s off to them after what they’ve been through this week.”
