Lauren Yoon can add another honor to her decorated tennis career.
The 2018 Webb School graduate was announced Monday as a National High School All-American by the National High School Tennis All-American Foundation.
Yoon, who will play tennis for Emory University, won her second consecutive TSSAA Division II-A state singles championship on May 25 in Murfreesboro, two days after leading Webb to its ninth straight girls’ state team title.
“Lauren is very deserving of this award,” Webb coach Jim Pitkanen said. “She is a great definition of the words ‘student-athlete.’ She’s a 4.0 student with very high AP (Advanced Placement) grades, and she excelled in tennis as well. She’s done it all at Webb.”
Yoon reached the state semifinals as a freshman at Webb, and she lost in the state doubles final in 2016. She will spend this summer playing ITA tournaments for college-level players before heading to Emory, which was the NCAA Division III women’s team runner-up in May.
