The South-Doyle senior tailback got more good news on Friday, just a few days after being named Class 5A Tennessee Titans Mr. Football.
Gatorade named him the Player of the Year in the state of Tennessee.
Young rushed for 2,1070 yards and 39 touchdowns on 246 carries, helping the Cherokees win a region championship and reach the Class 5A state quarterfinals.
He’s the first player in South-Doyle history win a Mr. Football and a Gatorade State Player of the Year award.
Young announced also this week that he’s exploring options for his college future, given that Missouri is undergoing a coaching change. Young committed to Missouri in June.
