The following is a press release from the University of Tennessee men’s basketball and focuses on the addition of former Lenoir City High School guard Dylan Brewster as a graduate manager…
Fresh off a Division I collegiate playing career, Dylan Brewster is in his first season as a graduate assistant with the Tennessee basketball program in 2018-19.
“I am thankful for the opportunity Coach Barnes and the staff have given me to be a Graduate Assistant,” Brewster said. “I look forward to helping them continue their success here at the University of Tennessee.”
A native of Lenoir City, Tennessee, Brewster spent the last two years as a member of the men’s basketball team at Chattanooga. The 6-2 guard appeared in seven games as a junior in 2016-17. He was placed on scholarship prior to his senior campaign, but an injury limited his participation to just six games in 2017-18. He received his degree in Communications in May.
Brewster was a three-year member of the Dean’s List and the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll at UTC. As a junior, he earned the Southern Conference Commissioner’s Medal and also was named to the SoCon Honor Roll. He graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He served as a team manager at Chattanooga during the 2015-16 season.
Brewster graduated from Lenoir City High School in 2014 and was a standout on the Panthers basketball team. In the same game, he surpassed the 1,000-career-points milestone and also set school record for points in a game with 52 in a win over Wartburg. He also was a member of the LCHS baseball and golf teams and graduated with a 4.0 GPA.
