WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Parker McKinney, Coalfield High (2018 graduate)
NOW: As a redshirt freshman in 2019, McKinney (6-3, 208) started seven games and played in 10. He went 116-for-221 passing for 1371 yards and seven TDs (nine INTs). He also rushed 76 times for 280 yards and five scores. McKinney threw for a season-high 313 yards and two TDs against UT-Martin on Oct. 5, also adding a TD on the ground. McKinney started the final two games of the 2018 season, while retaining his redshirt season. And in one of those last two starts in 2018, McKinney became the first true freshman quarterback at EKU to throw for 300 yards or more in a game.
THEN: McKinney was named Class 1A Mr. Football as a senior in 2017, throwing for 3,002 yards and 26 TDs while leading Coalfield to an 11-2 mark and an appearance in the Class 1A state quarterfinals. He also intercepted nine passes as a defensive back as a senior. All told, he threw for 9,265 yards in his career and 111 TDs. He helped steer Coalfield to a state-title appearance as a freshman QB in 2014.
