WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Shamarcus Brown, Bearden High School (2019 graduate)
NOW: Brown, a two-sport star while at Bearden, had quite the dilemma coming out of high school. Football? Basketball? Both? He has now landed on a collegiate roster and did so with the Chattanooga football program. He’s now listed as a 6-foot-4, 235-pound freshman linebacker on the Mocs’ 2020 roster.
THEN: Brown was a multi-sport star as a senior at Bearden High School during the 2018-2019 sports calendar year. He joined the football team for 2018 and was an instant success. He racked up 17 tackles for loss, nine sacks and 83 tackles as a defensive lineman. He then turned to the hardwood, where he helped Bearden win the 2019 Class AAA state championship. The forward averaged roughly 11 points and eight rebounds per game. He culminated his prep hoops career with a 15-point, 10-rebound, three-block performance against James Wiseman and Memphis East in the 2019 title game.
