Eli Purcell probably raised a few teammates’ eyebrows when he showed up and practiced this past week.
He likely did the same, too, with Farragut fans on Friday when he suited up and played linebacker for the Admirals in their first-round playoff game against Bradley Central.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pound senior wasn’t about to let a broken leg keep him off the field.
Not that his toughness was ever questioned.
But it certainly won’t be now. Maybe ever.
