2020 All-5Star Preps Cross-Country Teams
BOYS
Runner of the Year: Kaden Keller, Hardin Valley
Coach of the Year: Bryan Brown, Hardin Valley
Boys first team – the Top 7
Kaden Keller, jr., Hardin Valley: Keller almost swept everything in sight on his way to leading the Hawks to the state Large Schools championship. He was KIL and Region 2 champion and clocked a 15:52.61 5K finish at the state meet to finish fourth.
Andrew Schultz, sr., Hardin Valley: The addition this season of Schultz, who previously ran for the Knoxville Ambassadors, helped put the Hawks over the top. He was second behind Keller at both the KIL and region meets. Schultz took sixth in the state in 16:12.83.
Nathan Hillis, jr., Hardin Valley: The steady Hillis was fifth at KIL, eighth at regionals and 10th (16:13.85) at the state meet.
Trevor Coggin, soph., Farragut: Coggin’s ninth-place (16:14.80) finish led the Admirals to a fourth-place effort in the team race at the state meet. The 10th-grade standout was also fourth in the region and sixth at KIL.
Mitchell McCown, jr., Hardin Valley: McCown, in 10th place (16:15.19) was one of four Hardin Valley runners to place in the top 10 at the state meet. He earlier took fourth at KIL and fifth in the Region 2 meet.
Riley Smith, sr., Catholic: Smith turned in a fast time of 16:30.55 to take third place at the Division II-AA state meet in Hendersonville.
Alex Brittain, sr., Hardin Valley: Brittain ran 16:40 at both KIL and region to place third in each of those meets. He was 23rd at the state meet.

GIRLS
Runner of the Year: Maddie Archdale, Hardin Valley
Coach of the Year: Chelsea Osborne, Farragut
Girls First Team – the Top 7
Maddie Archdale, fresh., Hardin Valley: Archdale had a freshman season to remember – and she may just be scratching the surface. She ran to individual titles at both the KIL and Region 2 meets. Archdale then garnered all-state honors for her 12th-place finish (18:36.34) at the Large Schools state championship.
Andie-Marie Jones, jr., Maryville: Jones had her season cut short by COVID-19 contact tracing that derailed Maryville’s postseason. She ran in six meets during the regular season, winning four and finishing second twice.
She ran a career-best time of 17:37 on her way to placing second in the Oct. 3 Jesse Owens Classic in Oakville, Ala. She’s generally regarded as the No. 2 runner in the state behind Jenna Hutchens of Science Hill.
Anna Graves, fresh., Webb: One of several impact freshmen in the 5Star Preps coverage area, Graves was the Division II-A East Region medalist, the KIL runner-up and she also came in third (19:46.34) in the DII-A state championship.
Morgan Blazer, sr., Cocke County: Blazer followed her third-place finish at the Region 1 championship with an impressive 10th-place (18:29.79) showing at the Large Schools state meet.
Chloe Wade, sr., Sevier County: Wade took fifth in the Region 1 Large Schools meet. She ended the season with a 20th-place (19:22.73) showing at the state championship meet.
Camryn Johnson, jr., Farragut: Lady Admirals standout posted third-place runs at both the Region 2 and KIL meets. She was 23rd at the state meet, crossing the finish line on the Sanders Ferry Parkway course in 19:24.91.
Melanie Hayman, fresh., Farragut: Her second-place finish helped the Lady Admirals to the Region 2 team championship. Hayman was also 11th at KIL and 31st (19:40.02) at the state meet.
