ALCOA – Teammates watched anxiously Friday night when Alcoa senior linebacker Shannon Mitchell was helped off the field with a leg injury.
It happened during the third quarter of Alcoa’s 42-17 non-region victory over visiting Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett, and Mitchell soon was taken by cart into the locker room.
Mitchell, son of former Georgia and NFL tight end Shannon Mitchell, was at Blount Memorial Hospital when the game ended.
