By East Tennessee’s championship standards, the 2020 season was an average one.
Only two of TSSAA’s nine state championships made their way into the 5Star Preps coverage area. Alcoa won its sixth consecutive Class 3A championship and Elizabethton repeated in 4A.
Meigs County wound up runner-up in 2A and Oak Ridge the same in 5A.
Maybe a change in venue and a less Covid-crazed preseason will help in 2021. Chattanooga will play host to the BlueCross Bowl state championships this season.
Here are the teams we think could get there and others who will be challengers and obstacles throughout the fall.
