The quest for head-coaching continuity with the Lakeway Christian Academy football program has reached a stopping point for the time being.
The school introduced Thad Wells as the new head coach on Friday morning, and Wells is the Lions’ fourth head coach in their very brief history.
“It doesn’t matter what I tell you right this second. I can tell you that my plans are to be here for the next 50 years. Doesn’t matter,” said Wells during his introductory press conference. “What matters is if you see me here next year and the year after and when you see my face and I’m working.
“You want to make that promise. And I told the kids: my wife and I were looking for a situation where we could raise our kids. That’s part of the reason why we felt like we were led to be here. But it doesn’t matter what I say. Like I told the kids: you can make a commitment and say it. But trust is built with action and what you do with your life. So, I just hope that they feel that.”
