Coaching moments for Abby Williams didn’t conclude once the CAK girls’ basketball team eliminated Nashville Christian School, 58-55, on Friday night.
Just minutes after the Division II-A state quarterfinal win, she gathered the Lady Warriors for a brief tutorial in net cutting.
And while some players still struggled to cut the nylon correctly and others overcame a fear of heights to climb the ladder and snip a piece, it all eventually got done — with Williams slashing through the last handful of strands.
She grabbed the remaining net and whipped it around in the air to stir the CAK home crowd into a further frenzy.
And why not? After all, she’d just seen her team rally and earn a berth into the state semifinals for the first time since 2019.
