POWELL — Gianni Magdos’ penchant for the big play helped turn the tide in Powell’s favor against stubborn visiting Campbell County Friday night.
Magdos had the first three-interception game of his career and the Powell senior scored on a back-breaking pass reception to close out the first half as the Panthers outscored the Cougars in a wild 58-36 shootout.
The win puts Powell (6-2, 4-0) in command in Region 3-5A.
The defending state champion Panthers have won six games in a row since losing to Anderson County and Maryville to open the season.
