LOUDON – Playoff season started a week early for the Loudon football team.
The Redskins posted a 23-14 victory over visiting Kingston on Friday night and earned a spot in the Class 3A state playoffs while knocking the Yellow Jackets out of the playoffs.
Loudon (6-4, 3-2 in Region 3-3A) is the region’s No. 2 seed in the playoffs, thanks to Friday’s victory combined with Sweetwater’s 24-17 victory over McMinn Central.
“Our motto has been, ‘We’re starting over. It’s Game One, and it’s a one-game playoff season,’” said senior linebacker Dillon Handshey, Loudon’s leading tackler.
