It has been a couple of years, but here we go with another Greeneville-Anderson County playoff game.
The Class 4A powers, both 12-0, square off Friday in Clinton in the state quarterfinals.
The series has become quite the rivalry, despite Greeneville winning all four of its playoff games against Anderson County over the last five years.
“It’s a good rivalry and this is the game fans want to see in 4A – and I’m glad we’re in it,” said Greeneville coach Eddie Spradlen.
Quarterfinal wins over the Mavericks catapulted Greeneville to state championships in 2017 and 2018.
It’s the third time since 2017 that the teams have both brought 12-0 worksheets into one of their playoff meetings.
Before we take a look at Friday’s showdown, let’s revisit the last four playoff meetings between the teams.
