Catholic senior and recent Notre Dame signee Jake Renfree didn’t disappoint this past weekend at the Footlocker Nationals in San Diego, one year after surging to a top-five finish.
The 40th edition of the Footlocker Nationals brought together 40 of the top boys and 40 of the top girls cross country runners in the nation.
Renfree finished the event in 15:19.5, roughly six seconds behind winner Cole Hocker of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. Hocker remains unsigned but is considering Colorado, Oregon, Portland, Northern Arizona and Syracuse, per the Indianapolis Star.
Renfree captured the TSSAA Large Division state championship in early November and was named 5Star Preps Boys Runner of the Year.
