RUTLEDGE – Lauren Bailey has scored more than 2,000 points in her Greeneville career, but it was her defense that helped blow the game open Friday against Grainger.
Bailey, in an otherwise quiet performance offensively, had two steals that led to five points in the final eight seconds of the first quarter to set the District 2-3A route in motion.
The sequence was part of a 14-2 run by the Lady Greene Devils that provided the spark to a 59-37 win over Grainger.
It was the 200th career victory for coach Annette Watts at Greeneville and the first win by the Lady Greene Devils at Grainger since 2016.
