KINGSTON – Playing at home is invaluable in the postseason, and that’s why Kingston coach Joe Layne had no complaints Friday night.
The top-seeded Yellow Jackets fended off No. 3 Loudon for a 68-62 victory in the District 3-2A semifinals, clinching a home game in the first round of next week’s Region 2-AA tournament.
“Pressure’s off now,” Layne said. “Everybody down there in that other (district’s) good, but tonight was the biggest game of the year for us because now we get to play at home (next) Saturday (in the region quarterfinals) instead of playing at Chattanooga, and that is a huge difference.”
