2018 All-5Star Preps Golf Teams
BOYS
FIRST TEAM
Cade Russell (CAK, senior): The 5Star Preps Player of the Year won his region championship with a score of 69 and then closed with a final-round 67 to win the Division II-A Small Class state individual championship. He signed with Tennessee in November.
Lance Simpson (Farragut, sophomore): Simpson performed admirably for the Admirals in the postseason, winning an individual state championship and also finishing runner-up in region play. He has committed to Tennessee.
Steven Haremski (Farragut, senior): The Middle Tennessee State signee won the District 4 medalist and Region 2 medalist with scores of 69 and 72, respectively.
Cooper Hayes (Carter, sophomore): Hayes highlighted his postseason run with a 67 to earn medalist honors in region play. He also carded a 74 at district to advance and tied for 16th at state.
Braedon Wear (Alcoa, junior): Alcoa finished as state runner-up, and Wear captured the individual title with consecutive rounds of 69. He was also medalist in region play.
Gabe Hunter (Alcoa, senior): Hunter helped Alcoa claim a runner-up with rounds of 72 and 74 at state. He earned medalist honors in district-tournament play with his round of 66.

GIRLS
FIRST TEAM
Alyssa Montgomery (Central, senior): The 5Star Preps Player of the Year finished third at state with a score of 69 and was overall medalist at the District 3 and Region 2 tournaments with scores of 69 and 70. Montgomery is a Virginia Tech signee.
Shelby Liford (Halls, senior): The Tennessee signee finished seventh at the Class AAA state tournament with a score of 74 while finishing runner-up at the District 3 and Region 2 tournaments with scores of 72 and 72.
Madilyn Newman (L&N Stem Academy, sophomore): Newman won the 5Star Preps Masters in July and followed that with medalist honors at region and a third-place finish at the state tournament.
Lexanne Halama (Farragut, sophomore): Halama tied for fifth place at the state tournament with a score of 74 and was the District 4 medalist with a score of 67.
Aynsleigh Martin (Farragut, junior): Martin helped the Lady Admirals reach the state tournament by finishing third (76) and fourth (76), respectively, at their district and region tournaments.
Kennedy Noe (Catholic, sophomore): A gritty competitor, Noe finished runner-up in her district tournament with a score of 72 and went on to finish fourth at region and tied for 13th at state.
