2023 All-5Star Preps Track & Field Team
Girls Class AAA
First Team
Elissa Longmire, Jefferson County: The five-time all-state performer swept the weight events in both the sectional and state meets. The junior was AAA state champion in the shot put (40-00) and discus (132-05).
Maddie Archdale, Hardin Valley: Junior distant standout was second in the state meet in the 800 (2:15.58) and fifth (5:05.12) in the 1600. Archdale also won all three distance events in the sectionals.
Brooke Burgin, Maryville: Ran legs on the Lady Rebels’ state championship 4×400 team and fifth-place 4×100 team. Was also sectional state champ in the 400 and ran on three sectional relay teams that placed first.
Kate Robinson, West: Rebels junior captured fourth place in the state meet in the 1600 with a clocking of 5:04.59. Also ran on West’s sixth-place 4×400 team at state.
Mikyra Pettus, Oak Ridge: Pettus had a break-out junior year for the Lady Wildcats. She was Section 1 champion in the 100 and 200 before finishing the season with a No. 7 finish in the state 100 with a PR of 12.17.
Laila Rudolph, Bearden: Standout Lady Bulldogs sprinter registered an 11.94 finish in Murfreesboro to place fifth in the state 100.
Eliza Collins, Jefferson County: The junior jumper/hurdler/pentathlete is one of the top multi-event performers in the 5Star Preps coverage area. Collins was the Section 1 pentathlon winner.
Miley Presnell, Maryville: Just a sophomore, Presnell medaled in both weight events at the state meet. She was fourth (109-03) in the discus and sixth (36-08.5) in the shot put.
Madison Johnson, Campbell County: A model of consistency, the senior multi-event performer cleared 5-6 in the high jump in winning the sectional and placing sixth at state.
Ashley Parrish, Maryville: The senior tossed the shot put 38-08 to finish second to Longmire in the state meet.

Callie Wetzel, Union County: Lady Patriots sophomore captured wins at the state AA meet in the 100 and 300 hurdles with respective times of 15.67 and 46.65.
Maddox Mayfield, McMinn Central: Broke three school records during her 2023 junior season. Mayfield was state champion in AA in the 400 (57.54) and she finished third in the 100.
McCary Beaty, McMinn Central: Versatile sophomore won the long jump (17-08.5) at the state AA meet. She was also runner-up in the state pentathlon (3,014 points) and sixth in the 300 hurdles. Beaty broke four school records during the 2023 season.
Kacey Holliday, Alcoa: Freshmen led the Lady Tornadoes to their first state championship in track and field as Alcoa captured the Class A meet. Holliday won the 3200 (12:19.91) and came in second in both the 1600 and 800. She also ran a leg on Alcoa’s state championship 4×800 relay team.
Ava Moody, Anderson County: Capped her freshman campaign by claiming second in the 3200 (11:28.53) and sixth in the 1600 (5:34.30) at the state Class AA meet.
Savannah Bates, Northview Academy: Bates set four school records during the 2023 season. She was second in the state AA meet in the high jump (5-0) and fourth in the state pentathlon.
Ka’Shauna Dyer, South-Doyle: Lady Cherokees junior sprinter took second in the state AA 200 (25.78) and fifth (12.49) in the 100.
Kaiya Simmons, Elizabethton: The junior was second in the AA state meet in the 100 (12.31) and fifth in the 200 (26.65).
Jenna Pittman, Cocke County: Finished third (11:30.45) in the state AA meet in the 3200.
Charlotte Tymon, Alcoa: The junior was a big point scorer at the state meet for the Lady Tornadoes. She took third in the 300 hurdles, fifth in the pentathlon and eighth in the long jump.
Anna Kate Baumann, Alcoa: The junior claimed a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 100 and 300 hurdles.

Division II First Team
Chloe Truss, Catholic: High-impact freshmen left an indelible mark on the DII-AA state meet. Truss posted impressive times in all three sprints, winning the 100 (12.00), 200 (24.90) and 400 (56.95). She’s the 5Star Preps Female Track and Field Athlete of the Year for 2023.
Lennox Langham, Webb: One of the top jumpers in the state regardless of classification, the sophomore standout won the triple jump in 39-01 and was second in the long jump with a mark of 18-04.5. Langham’s second-place in the long jump was a personal record and the only competition in the jumps during the 2023 season she didn’t win.
Antiya McAlister, Christian Academy: McAlister set school records in three of the four events she was entered in at the DII-A state meet. The senior was second in the 100 (12.16) and 200 (25.08). She also ran on CAK’s state championship 4×200 relay team.
Brianna Baker, Grace Christian: The highly decorated senior capped her career with another stellar performance at the DII-A state meet. Baker won both hurdles, taking the 100s in 14.66 and the 300s in 44.50. She was also second in the state pentathlon (3,143 points) and third (17-0) in the long jump.
Carolina Areheart, Webb: Lady Spartans freshman ran a PR in the 1600 at the DII-AA state meet, winning the event in 5:06.45. Areheart was also a member of Webb’s state champion 4×800 relay team. She ran a personal-best 2:16.77 in the 800 earlier in the season.
Jazzlyn Garmer, Webb: The freshman was part of the state championship 4×800 relay team and was state runner-up in the 800 (2:19.91). She was also fifth in the 3200 at state.
Calysta Garmer, Webb: Ran on the 4×800 team that won the state championship in a school-record 9:23.37. The freshman also placed third (2:20.90) in the 800 at state.
Maddie Braden, CAK: Just an eighth grader, Braden ran a fast 58.54 to place third at state in the DII-A 400. She was also seventh in the high jump. She also ran on the Lady Warriors’ state championship 4×200 that set a school record in 1:43.73.
Elly Jones, Catholic: Lady Irish senior was second to teammate Truss in the state 200 in 25.69. She also ran anchor on Catholic’s 4×200 relay team at the state meet, bringing the Lady Irish all the way from fifth place to runner-up in 1:45.68.
