HARDIN VALLEY — Karns had finally established some offense, moving methodically down the field to start the second half Friday night at Hardin Valley with a 16-play drive that went 61 yards.
But facing third-and-10 at the Hardin Valley 19, Karns quarterback Carson Paul lofted a pass to the end zone, where Hardin Valley cornerback Taa Henderson was waiting for the interception.
The drive was over just like that. And the Hawks went back down the field just like that, on an eight-play, 65-yard scoring drive that never left the ground.
It was that kind of night for Hardin Valley, opening the season with a 21-0 win. And it was that kind of night for Karns.
“Our kids just played so well, executed, tackled well, didn’t give up big plays,” Hardin Valley coach Jeff Miner said. “Can’t say enough good things about these kids.”
