MARYVILLE – Kiernan Stamey was extra motivated Thursday night.
You could probably say the same for her teammates on the Maryville volleyball team.
Stamey and the Lady Rebels avenged one of their losses this season with a 25-16, 25-23, 23-25, 25-19 win over visiting Hardin Valley Academy in a showdown for first place in District 4-AAA.
Maryville (12-6, 4-1 in 4-AAA) and HVA (13-2, 3-1) split two matches earlier this year, but Thursday was their district match.
“I personally think they’re our top competition this season,” said Stamey, a senior outside hitter and Kennesaw State commitment.
