CLINTON — Anderson County hasn’t lost to Clinton since 2009. The Mavericks weren’t going to let that streak end on Thursday night.
Anderson County came away with the 28-14 win on Thursday night at Dragon Field in the first meeting between the two schools since 2020.
The Mavericks (4-3) move to 28-8 all-time against Clinton (2-5).
“I think it was good to get the rivalry going in a little less personal way where me and coach Keith are friends, big fan of his son,” Anderson County head coach Davey Gillum said. “It was more about two teams, not on each other’s region schedule, and just going out and playing a high-profile game.”
