It wasn’t the cleanest performance from Gibbs on its home turf, but the Eagles were able to pull out a 34-21 win over Carter on Friday night.
Gibbs (6-1, 3-0 Region 2-4A) ended the night with four turnovers — not counting a muffed punt — and nine penalties for 91 yards. Carter (4-4, 1-2) wasn’t perfect either with three turnovers, a muffed kick and 17 penalties for 180 yards.
“Credit to our guys, played a heck of a game,” Gibbs head coach Brad Turner said. “Just persevered through the adversity.”
