MORRISTOWN — The 1-2 punch of junior running back Camren Richards and senior quarterback Malakhi Isom proved too much for Halls in Friday’s Class 5A first-round playoff game at Burke-Toney Stadium.
Richards and Isom combined for 325 yards rushing and five touchdowns as the Trojans (6-5) scored an impressive 35-14 knockout win over the Red Devils (8-3).
“Honestly, I thought we’d have to throw the ball to win,” said West coach Alvin Sanders.
“Halls is really good up front on defense, but we had almost 350 yards rushing tonight. Cam got us started with the long run and Malakhi’s growth and leadership got us to this point.”
