SEVIERVILLE – Powell dominated Sevier County from start to finish in its Class 5A playoff game Friday night, setting up a much-anticipated quarterfinal showdown with West.
The Panthers’ smothering defense held the Smoky Bears to just 78 total yards as Powell cruised to the victory 31-7.
“Our defense played unreal,” said Panthers coach Matt Lowe.
“That Sevier County team scored 50-plus points in its last two games.”
