LENOIR CITY — McMinn Central girls’ basketball coach Johnny Morgan had high praise for Heritage after his team’s 67-53 victory Thursday night in the Lenoir City Christmas Tournament.
Morgan, who’s coached at McMinn Central since 1978 and is in the TSSAA Hall of Fame, expects the Lady Mountaineers to make a run at the Class AAA state championship in the spring.
“They’ve dropped down to Triple A,” Morgan said. “They’re not in 4-A anymore. I really believe they’ve got a chance to win the Triple A state this year. They’ve got some nice players there and they’ve got a good defensive scheme and everything about them is good.”
