Not often is the Bearden boys’ basketball team at the bottom of the district standings, but that’s where it was before Friday night’s games.
The Bulldogs got a much-needed victory, beating visiting Maryville 65-59 in their first game since a 13-point loss at Maryville on Jan. 9.
Since then, Bearden (19-4, 1-2 in District 4-4A) has been out of its gym due to Knox County Schools being cancelled due to weather conditions.
“I’m proud of our guys,” Bearden coach Jeremy Parrott said. “That’s a heck of a win after one practice in the last 15 days.”
