ALCOA – Basketball fans at Alcoa will get one more chance to watch the program’s career scoring leader.
Senior guard Jahvin Carter poured in 44 points Thursday night as Alcoa defeated visiting Austin-East 86-85 for the Region 1-2A championship and home-court advantage in Monday’s state sectional round.
Defending state champion Alcoa (22-13) will play host to Chattanooga Tyner (24-6) in the sectionals for a berth in the state quarterfinals in Murfreesboro.
