Maybe the journey to name a coaching successor to Caine Ballard at Greeneville High School took a little longer than expected, but the school introduced their new football coach Thursday afternoon.

Greeneville assistant coach Dan Hammonds will replace Caine Ballard, who resigned in mid-January after leading the Greene Devils to four 4A titles in 10 seasons — including recent back-to-back 15-0 seasons in 2017-18.
