Alcoa 5, East Ridge 2 — The Tornadoes didn’t let a 2-1 halftime deficit deter them. Gian Moore, Marcos German (two) and Andrew Knight booted through goals after the break to keep Alcoa’s season intact. Diego Ojeda’s goal for Alcoa gave it a 1-0 lead in the first three minutes of the match. The Tornadoes will face South-Doyle on Thursday in the region finale. Alcoa is 2-0 against South-Doyle this season.
South-Doyle 1, Signal Mountain 0 … District 5-AA Co-Player of the Year Anestis Tiriakidis scored the lone goal off an assist from Sebastian Carroll to send South-Doyle into a third meeting with Alcoa this season in Thursday’s region championship. Jonah Mitchell had the clean sheet Tuesday for South-Doyle.
