Farragut’s volleyball team was the big winner Wednesday night during the “Pink Out Night” at Catholic promoting cancer awareness.
The Lady Admirals posted 2-1 victories over Catholic and two-time defending Class AAA state champion Cleveland.
In Wednesday’s opening match, Farragut beat Catholic 26-24, 22-25, 15-12 for its second victory of the season against the Lady Irish.
Farragut defeated Cleveland 25-23, 14-25, 15-10 in Wednesday’s second match, and Cleveland beat Catholic 25-18, 19-25, 15-13, in the finale.
“Playing better competition just makes us better,” said Farragut senior outside hitter Elsa Morrison. “If we play lower-level teams, we’re never going to improve, so we always learn lessons from playing great players and great teams like Cleveland and like Lauren (Hurst). I think playing somebody like that improves us for the rest of the season.”
