OAK RIDGE – There was no shortage of motivation for the Oak Ridge football team Friday night.
The Wildcats rolled to a 48-21 victory over rival Clinton at Blankenship Field, avenging last year’s 24-21 home loss to the Dragons in the second round of the Class 5A state playoffs.
Oak Ridge had won 14 consecutive games against Clinton before last year’s playoff loss.
“It left us with a really bad taste,” Oak Ridge junior quarterback Blaine Stansberry said. “Losing on our home field, we knew we needed to come back out here and show our home crowd what we could do.”
