Given Webb’s penchant for tie games, Spartans coach Jared Ziegler shouldn’t have been shocked by the bizarre ending to Saturday’s game against Morristown West.
The Trojans’ P.J. Reyes hopped a kick over the head of charging Webb goalie Nicholas Pope and into the net with six seconds to play, as Morristown West salvaged a 2-2 tie in the Bearden Invitational.
It marked the fourth tie already of the early season for Division II-A Webb (2-1-4) while the Class AAA Trojans, off to one their starts in school history, are 7-0-3.
