Gatlinburg-Pittman coach Derek Rang won’t let a long road trip against a region champion shake the confidence of his team Friday night in the opening round of the Class 3A state playoffs.
The Highlanders (6-4, 3-3 in Region 2-3A) will take a 3-hour bus ride to play Johnson County (9-1, 5-0 in Region 1-3A) in Mountain City, located in the northeast corner of the state.
