Boys Runner of the Year: Keegan Smith, Catholic
Boys First Team
Keegan Smith, Catholic: The freshman lived up to his billing as one of the best runners in the nation regardless of class. At the state level Smith dominated the Division 2-AA championships, winning by 24 seconds in 15:29. He followed that up with a seventh-place finish in the Eastbay South Region Championship and qualified for the national championship meet in San Diego where he was 35th.
Kaden Keller, Hardin Valley: The unquestioned leader of the Hawks during their impressive back-to-back state title runs in 2020 and 2021. Keller was a model of consistency throughout his career. The senior won the Region 2 meet, was second in the KIL Championships and third (15:33.34) at the state meet.
Trevor Coggin, Farragut: Admirals junior was seventh (15:49.23) at the state meet, second in the region (16:17) and third (16:02) at the KIL Championships.
Cade Crum, Bearden: Crum capped his freshman season with a strong showing at the state meet, taking 13th place in 16:04.20 to earn all-state honors.
Nate Hillis, Hardin Valley: Another member of HVA’s seniors that will go down as one of the greatest classes in Tennessee cross-country history. Hillis was 14th (16:04.37) at the state meet.
Isaac Legault, Hardin Valley: Legault showed marked improvement during his senior season. He ran 16:04.82 to take 15th place at the state meet.
Abdul Jaber, Alcoa: The Alcoa senior followed up a region championship with a fourth-place (16:11.10) performance at the state meet.

Girls First Team
Girls Runner of the Year: Andie-Marie Jones, Maryville
Andie-Marie Jones, Maryville: Lady Rebels senior completed a remarkable run of top-seven finishes at the state meet in 2021. After placing seventh as a freshman and fifth as a sophomore, Jones took third place in November at the state meet in 18:16.20. She was unable to compete in the state meet as a junior after being tagged for COVID contact tracing.
Grace Lathrop, Farragut: Lathrop led the Lady Admirals to a second-place team showing at the state meet as she clocked in at 18:34.60 to take fourth individually.
Maddie Archdale, Hardin Valley: Archdale had a breakout freshman season. She was even better as a sophomore in 2021. Archdale won both the KIL and Region 2 titles before finishing 10th (19:00.60) at the state meet for the Lady Hawks.
Jazzlyn Garmer, Webb: One half of the Lady Spartans’ sensational eighth-grade sister tandem, Garmer posted a third-place (18:36.80) finish at the state meet. She was also fourth at KIL in 19:10.
Calysta Garmer, Webb: Garmer was fourth (18:50.70) at the state meet and fifth (19:11) at the KIL championships.
Kaitlyn Fischer, Anderson County: The sophomore’s hardware haul this season included a region championship and a third place (19:07.12) at the state meet.
Kate Robinson, West: The sophomore was a model of consistency this season for the Lady Rebels. She was second at KIL, fourth in the region and 17th (19:15.60) at state.
