The expectations bar just keeps getting ramped up higher and higher for Elizabethton football.
Just where the ceiling tops out is unclear.
The seemingly unbeatable Cyclones are coming off back-to-back state Class 4A championships and take a 30-game winning streak into the August season opener against Science Hill.
For those who may have forgot or weren’t born yet, Elizabethton’s last loss was on Nov. 9, 2018 at Anderson County in the second round of the playoffs.
There were some big hits to graduation, but don’t bet against Elizabethton taking its legacy to another level in 2021.
The Cyclones have a legitimate opportunity to extend one of the most dominating stretches in TSSAA history.
