2022 All-5Star Preps Cross Country Teams
BOYS Runner of the Year: Trevor Coggin, Farragut
BOYS First team
Trevor Coggin, Farragut: Senior led the Admirals to the state Class AAA championship at Sanders Ferry park in Hendersonville. He finished second individually in the state meet, clocking in with a time of 15 minutes, 33.13 seconds on the 5K course. Coggin led Farragut to its first state title since 2001.
Keegan Smith, Catholic: Irish 10th grader earned a fourth-place finish (15:31.78) in a stacked field at the Division II-AA state meet. Smith also successfully defended his KIL championship, winning the individual title in 15:03.
Cade Crum, Bearden: Just a sophomore, Crum served notice that he’s a force to be reckoned with over the next two seasons after placing third (15:43.69) in the state Class AAA meet.
Braden Ebbert, Farragut: Admirals junior crossed the finish line in 15:43.75 at the state Class AAA meet to earn fourth place.
Matteo Tonnos, Farragut: Tomes was the third Farragut runner to place in the top five at state. The junior was the No. 5 finisher in 15:46.98.
Radek Molchan, Catholic: The ninth-grader capped an outstanding freshman season with a seventh-place showing (15:44.50) in the Division II-AA state meet.
BOYS Second Team
Quinn DeGuira, Farragut: DeGuira, a senior, garnered 18th place at the state Class AAA meet. He finished the 5,000 meters in 16:23.13.
Tony Ortega, Catholic: Another of the young Irish standouts, Ortega left his mark as a sophomore by taking 15th at the Division II-AA state meet in 16:28.55.
Harrison Cunningham, Farragut: Admirals junior was 20th (16:33.04) in the state Class AAA meet.
Colin Eckerman, Webb: Eckerman ran 16th at the state Division II-AA meet as the junior clocked in with a 16:31.16 performance.
Joshua Cross, CAK: The Christian Academy 11th-grader recorded a fourth-place showing (16:53.24) at the Division II-A state championships.
Sam Bridges, Alcoa: Tornadoes junior finished No. 9 in the state Class A/AA meet with a time of 17:04.45.
GIRLS
Runner of the Year: Anna Graves, Webb
GIRLS First Team
Anna Graves, Webb: The Lady Spartans’ standout had a strong junior season. Graves was second in the Division II-AA state meet (18:49.90) and second in the KIL Championships (18:02).
Jazzlyn Garmer, Webb: The freshman won the KIL individual title in 17:59 and placed 10th at state (19:51.61) as the Lady Spartans finished runners-up to Harpeth Hall.
Hannah Kramer, Karns: Lady Beavers sophomore ran 18:50.76 at the state meet in Hendersonville to finish fourth and claim all-state accolades in the Class AAA division.
Dylan Job, Oak Ridge: Another up-and-coming runner in the area, the freshman picked up sixth place in the AAA state meet with a time of 19:03.44. Job’s performance was the best by a Lady Wildcat at the state meet since 2010.
Calysta Garmer, Webb: The twin sister of Jazzlyn Garmer, Calysta turned in a strong showing at the state meet as she garnered fourth place in 19:06.38.
Maddie Archdale, Hardin Valley: Archdale posted a state-meet time of 19:16.99 to place 12th in the Class AAA championships. She was also Region 2 champion (19:08.15).
GIRLS Second Team
Rylee Gifford, Karns: Gifford earned all-state honors at the state Class AAA meet for her top-15 finish. She was 14th in 19:20.51.
Sawyer Grace Simmons, Lenoir City: Lady Panthers standout was 21st in the state Class AAA meet (20:00.79) and second in Region 3.
Kaitlyn Fisher, Anderson County: Lady Mavericks junior notched eighth place in the state Class A/AA championships with a finish of 20:08.19.
Kacey Holliday, Alcoa: The freshman standout posted a 10th-place showing at the state Class A/AA championships with a time of 20:08.88.
Kennedy Reynolds, Farragut: Reynolds capped her senior season by taking 36th at the state Class AAA meet. She crossed the finish line in 20:31.33.
Gracie Franklin, Maryville: Lady Rebels junior recorded a time of 20:28.25 at the state Class AAA meet to place No. 33.
