PLAYER OF THE YEAR — Jahvin Carter (Alcoa)
UNDERCLASSMAN OTY — Jonathan Woodlee (Maryville)
FIRST TEAM
Jahvin Carter (Alcoa, senior, guard): A Penn State signee, 2024 Class 2A Mr. Basketball and two-time 5Star Preps Player of the Year, Carter steered Alcoa to a second consecutive state championship and averaged 27.4 points, 5.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game.
Ty Glasper (Gatlinburg-Pittman, junior, guard): A Division I prospect at point guard, Glasper averaged 27.3 points per game, along with 4.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.5 steals per game. He made 100 3-pointers during his junior season.
Shane Cherry (Austin-East, junior, guard): A two-time finalist for Mr. Basketball and a Division I prospect, Cherry wow’d crowds again in 2023-24, averaging 27.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.1 steals per game. He helped A-E reach state for the first time since 2019.
Tyler Lee (Fulton, senior, forward) – The Class 3A Mr. Basketball, Central Arkansas signee and state tournament MVP helped Fulton repeat as state champs in 3A with 15.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He made 46.4 of his 3-point attempts.
Taj Kimber (Fulton, senior, guard): One of the main pillars of Fulton’s back-to-back championship runs, Kimber averaged 12.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game as a senior. He signed with Tusculum.
Denaj Kimber (Fulton, senior, guard): A Tusculum signee and critical cog in Fulton’s repeat efforts in Class 3A, Kimber shot 37.9 percent from 3 while giving the Falcons 11.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.
Jordan McCullum (Harriman, senior, forward): The Class 1A Mr. Basketball and Murray State signee guided Harriman to a 27-3 record as a senior and averaged 28.4 points, 14.6 rebounds, 6.4 blocks, 5.8 assists and 2.9 steals per game.
SECOND TEAM
Caden Windle (William Blount, senior, guard): The program’s all-time leading scorer and a Johnson U signee, Windle averaged 26.2 points and 10.7 rebounds as a senior, earning Class 4A Mr. Basketball Finalist honors.
Cade Capps (Stone Memorial, junior, guard): A Class 3A Mr. Basketball Finalist and Division I prospect, Capps posted 28.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game for the Panthers.
Kyle Cloninger (Morristown East, senior, guard): The District 2-4A MVP led Morristown East to its first state appearance since 1979. He’s the program’s all-time leading scorer and averaged 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists per game.
Jonathan Woodlee (Maryville, sophomore, guard): The 2023-24 5Star Preps Underclassman of the Year helped Maryville reach the Class 4A State Tournament with 13.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.
Trey Thompson (Greeneville, sophomore, forward): The 6-8, 220-pound standout averaged 23.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks. He earned District 2-3A MVP and was a Class 3A Mr. Basketball Finalist.
Jaylen Pompey (Webb, junior, guard): A high-energy point guard with control and polish, Pompey paced Webb to a final four appearance in Division II-AA with 11 points, three rebounds and nearly four assists per game.
Cade Murphy (Catholic, sophomore, guard): Murphy proved to be the steadying offensive presence for the Irish, earning All-Region honors and averaging 16 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Shot 46 percent from 3 and 89 percent at the foul line.
THIRD TEAM
Justin Nordin (Bearden, sophomore, guard): One of the top players in the demanding District 4-4A, Nordin averaged 16.2 points, 4.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. He shot 42 percent from 3.
Carson Bolton (Jellico, senior, guard): Bolton steered Jellico to a state appearance for the first time ever with 28.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.
Drake Ingram (Webb, senior, guard): Webb’s leading scorer in its semifinal run, Ingram authored some clutch moments in his career. He averaged 14.3 points as a senior with 3.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. He shot 42.7 percent from 3.
Condis Cherry (Austin-East, freshman, guard): Cherry came up clutch numerous times late in the season and averaged 13.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists while helping the Roadrunners reach the state tournament.
Alex Akard (Maryville, senior, forward): The 6-9 Akard played a prominent role in Maryville reaching the Class 4A state tournament. He posted 11.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.
Chris Bozeman (Karns, senior, guard): Bozeman put up monster point totals in his final prep season, going for 27.6 points per game and 3.0 assists per contest for the Beavers.
Cooper Williams (Oak Ridge, junior, post): The 6-6 Williams had a breakout season for the Wildcats, going for 13.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.
