HOW PLAYERS ARE SELECTED
Below you’ll find the 2024 All-5Star Preps Girls Soccer Teams. The athletes are chosen based on a variety of factors, including: overall talent/skill, 2024 season statistics, team success in 2024, nominees from their head coaches, and recommendations from area coaches.
ALL-5SP FIRST TEAM
FORWARDS
Jayla Blue (Bearden, junior): The 5Star Preps Girls Soccer Player of the Year and now Lady Vols commit set a single-season Bearden record with 45 goals and led the Lady Bulldogs to a state runner-up finish. Blue was also the District 4-AAA and Region 2-AAA MVP.
Halle Bibee (Bearden, senior): A Tennessee Tech signee, Bibee pumped in 21 goals and logged 12 assists while helping the Lady Bulldogs make a run to Class AAA state runner-up finish.
Sifa Morgan (Powell, senior): Powell won 14 games in the fall and made a run all the way to the Class AAA sectionals; Morgan had 25 goals and seven assists in the Lady Panthers’ 19-game season.
Pearce Groer (Webb, senior): Injury robbed Groer of the final games of her career and Webb’s season, but the University of Texas signee still got in enough playing time to help Webb construct a deep run. She scored 14 goals and had 15 assists for state runner-up Webb.
Charleigh Freeman (West, freshman): Playing in one of, if not, the state’s tough districts, Freeman scored 17 goals with eight assists in her maiden season in high school soccer.
MIDFIELDERS
McKalie Ball (Webb, junior): As expected, Ball proved to be a big-time talent for the Lady Spartans. A Louisville commitment, she paced Webb in its run to a state runner-up finish with 19 goals and nine assists.
Emery Conway (Kingston, junior): Kingston made it all the way to the state semifinals in 2024, and Conway’s offense turned out to be key in that journey. A District and Region MVP, Conway scored 40 goals and dished out 16 assists.
Maci Ritzman (Bearden, senior): Ritzman tied a Bearden program record in 2024 with 28 assists. She also scored nine goals while helping Bearden finish 20-1-2 and as state runner-up.
Eva Baker (Bearden, senior): A Tennessee Tech signee, Baker stood out in the 2024 season from her midfielder position with 15 assists and three goals during the Lady Bulldogs’ state runner-up campaign.
Hayven Laurendine (Oak Ridge, junior): Laurendine was the District 3-AAA Offensive Player of the Year. She committed to Samford commit in August and then led the Lady Wildcats to a solid 8-5-1 season.
Kennedy Lucas (Bearden, sophomore): Lucas played a significant part in anchoring a backline for Bearden (20-1-2) that allowed just 10 goals all season and that posted 16 shutouts.
DEFENDERS
Mary Mac Emery (Webb, sophomore): Though an underclassman, Emery has already built a reputation as one of East Tennessee’s top defenders. With Emery’s help, Webb allowed just 12 goals in 19 games and finished state runner-up.
Emma Rainey (Bearden, junior): This skilled center-back played a role in constructing a defense that allowed just 10 games in a 23-game season and that pitched 16 shutouts.
Kennedy Dade (Farragut, junior): Not only was Dade a Co-District 4-AAA Defensive Player of the Year, she also got into plenty of boxscores for some offensive prowess, as well.
Rowan Unger (Farragut, junior): One of the most well-known defenders around, Unger is a Samford commit who battled through injury in 2024 to wind up on All-5Star Preps First Team.
GOALKEEPERS
Drew Tolley (Bearden, senior): The Sam Houston State signee helped post 16 shutouts in 23 games, allowing just 10 goals in a state runner-up season.
Lauren Lambert (HVA, junior): Lambert logged 120 saves in the 2024 season, keeping the Lady Hawks competitive in a brutally tough District 4-AAA gauntlet.
