COOKEVILLE – The Christian Academy of Knoxville girls basketball team fell to Middle Tennessee Christian, 65-47, in a Division II-A state semifinal at Tennessee Tech.
The Lady Warriors (26-8) jumped to an early 8-0 lead but lost that and trailed by 17 at halftime. CAK didn’t quit, though. Emily Wilson hit two 3s straight out of the halftime break to triggered a 24-7 CAK run. The Lady Warriors tied MTCS at 43-all with 1:11 left in the third.
But CAK ran out of steam from there.
Maddie Jones (12 points) and Keira Leffew (12 points, 10 rebounds) led CAK in defeat.
