The Class AAA Knox County Basketball Championships proved to be instant classics Wednesday night.
Farragut Middle and West Valley Middle faced off in both the girls’ and boys’ title games, and those in attendance got their money’s worth. And then some.
The West Valley Middle girls’ and Farragut Middle girls went to overtime, where Logan Connatser scored eight of her team-high 20 points for West Valley in a 51-43 win. Katie Foster contributed 15 in the win, as well. Gracie King paced Farragut with 11 points while teammates Audrey Rust and Reagan Sheridan had 10 apiece.
Parker Lane scored a whopping 31 points for the Farragut Middle boys’ basketball team in its 43-41 win over West Valley. Farragut Middle trailed, 23-17, at the half. But Lane erupted after the break for 18 points to lead the rally. Justin Nordin led West Valley with 18 points while Wilson Luton pitched in 15.
