ALCOA – Tuesday was ACT testing day for many of the Alcoa girls’ soccer players, while others on the team were out of school for the day.
It wasn’t an ideal game-day scenario for the Lady Tornadoes’ Region 3-AA elimination semifinal match on Tuesday night against visiting Soddy-Daisy.
Alcoa fell behind 1-0 in the 22nd minute, tied it in the 37th minute, and scored three times in the second half for a 4-1 victory.
“I was never worried all night long,” Alcoa coach Andy Byrd said. “I thought we were the better team.”
