ALCOA – Alcoa running back Elijah Cannon will make his fourth straight trip to the Class 3A state championship game next Friday.
This trip will be different.
It’s the last hoorah for Alcoa’s 18 seniors – including Cannon and nine other fourth-year seniors.
“I think every year it’s a different feeling,” Cannon said after Friday night’s 38-7 state semifinal victory over visiting Giles County. “This year it’s a little bit more surreal, senior year, last chance to do it, so go big or go home.”
That’s the only way Alcoa’s done it of late.
