CLINTON – Special teams were extra special for Anderson County’s football team Friday night.
The Mavericks (1-0) scored two third-quarter touchdowns on special teams on their way to a 26-0 victory over host Clinton (0-1) in the season opener for both teams.
It was payoff for lots of special teams work by the Mavs during the summer.
