ALCOA – Matti Rowland missed Anderson County’s volleyball practice Monday with a stomach bug, but she was at the top of her game by Tuesday night.
The junior middle blocker earned tournament MVP honors as the Lady Mavericks beat Gibbs 25-17, 25-13, 22-25, 25-19 in the Region 2-AA championship match at Alcoa.
Rowland had nine kills in the fourth set, showing no signs of a stomach bug.
