CLINTON — Anderson County made a stand for its football identity Friday night and the Mavericks did so in determined fashion.
They took the high ground early regarding defense and the running game and parlayed the edge into a 31-22 home victory over South-Doyle.
“Our defense stepped up in a really big way,” quarterback Stone Hatmaker said. “The offense played well. We were just on point tonight.”
